I have known Dr. Peter Köhler for many years. We have been co-workers, he has been CEO and then we have coincided together in the executive committee (Board of Directors) of the Weidmüller group. With Peter it is easy to talk and it is easy to debate. As a good physicist, he likes to analyze situations in an orderly manner and foresee the consequences after making decisions. Decisions are made under scrupulous reasoning. Peter is a person who likes to do things. Those who do things are sometimes wrong and that is why Peter has many followers and some critics of his management. Who does not? Yes, those who do nothing, and that is not Dr. Peter Köhler.
"Those who do not have critics of their management is because they have not firmly defended their convictions or those who do nothing."
I think it reflects quite well what Peter is not!
As we have known each other for a long time, I think we have learned a lot from each other. There are especially four aspects that I would like to highlight:
1) The strategy of a company must be written in the language of those who have to implement it, that is, in the simplest possible way, without grandiloquent words and with crystal clarity. It should be written by a professional communicator who is fully aware of the structure and culture of the company.
2) The strategy of a company must be communicated down to its last detail in such a way that it is introduced into the daily life of the company. The strategy must be alive within the company and not be a paper stored in drawers or a speech that flies in the environment. Therefore, the best communicators in the company should be those who explain it and if there are none, you have to look for a good professional communicator to carry out this important task.
3) The Board and top-level managers must be involved in the implementation of the strategy to the last consequences. The "management by example" should guide the entire process from start to finish. This can only be achieved if the strategy development process has been sufficiently participatory.
4) A job can only be filled by the person who has the right profile for their development. There are many companies that have too many people in the wrong positions. If that happens in the first levels, failure is assured. The top of the company and its surroundings are only for the best!
I asked Dr. Peter Köhler to write something on my blog and here I leave his paragraph:
"The holistic approach of TheSellingMachine covers all relevant management areas which are important to run a successful business - and even more. The best thing about it is that it is being proofed many times in the practice ..
Jose-Carlos implemented TheSellingMachine successfully in different countries and cultures all over the world. He is the ideal coach and partner to learn from his experiences - with passion, endurance and with the strength of execution! "
Kind regards
Peter
Thank you very much Peter for all that we have done and achieved together. Thank you for your words but above all, thank you for that joint learning and mutual respect. The experiences are never forgotten. The person will always be there!

¿Quién no?
"The holistic approach of TheSellingMachine covers all relevant management areas which are important to run a successful business – and even more. The best thing about it is that it is being proofed many times in the practice..
