Leaders are people who do the right thing; managers
are people who do things right. – Professor Warren G. Bennis
Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do
something you want done because he wants to do it. – Dwight D. Eisenhower

Leadership (English version)
In the last forty years
I have encountered many situations where the presence of a leader was more
necessary than ever to get ahead. In my opinion, there is no successful
business or company without the presence of a leader.
If we were to take a
definition of Leader or Leadership in the business world, I would probably opt
for these two:
Leaders are people who do the right thing; managers
are people who do things right. - Professor Warren G. Bennis
Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do
something you want done because he wants to do it. – Dwight D. Eisenhower
But perhaps it would be
better to define what a leader does to better understand what a leader is:
1) A leader must have
the necessary inspiration to create a vision of what the business or company
should be in the future. This is what I call a visionary leader with the ability to create a vision because he understands, knows and dominates all the fundamentals of the
business or the company.
2) A leader must inspire and generate enough confidence
to a certain group of people so that they feel identified with the defined
mission and motivate them to be willing to achieve it. With passion and enthusiasm, the leader generates an aura that inspires
people and builds confidence to
follow and feel identified with the defined mission. They follow him because he
is the visionary leader who understands,
knows and dominates the fundamentals of the business or the company.
3) A leader must be
able to define and create a
structure with adequate management
to achieve and provide the established vision. The leader must provide
results and needs a certain structure to carry out the vision that he has
created and has managed to convey. In turn, the structure that is created needs
people capable of organizing and directing with the necessary effectiveness and
efficiency. Here we talk about business managers.
4) A leader must keep the group of people cohesive, permanently trained and with sufficient and necessary skills to
achieve and provide the established vision. Normally a vision is not a one-year
thing, but is defined for a period greater than ten years. The leader must
strive for the evolution of the group of people and keep it cohesive to
provide the results.
